Associate Attorney

Mark Saunders

Mark Saunders is an Associate Attorney with Appleton Reiss, where he advises his community association clients in a variety of practice areas including transactions, corporate governance, real property, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Saunders graduated from Duke University School of Law in 2021, where he served as an Executive Editor for Law & Contemporary Problems, the longest-running legal journal at Duke University. Prior to joining Appleton Reiss, Mr. Saunders worked as an Associate in the Global Projects – Energy Projects and Transactions department at the Washington, D.C. office of the international law firm Baker Botts. While at Baker Botts, Mr. Saunders advised his clients on all aspects of some of the largest energy construction projects and transactions in the world, including the drafting and negotiation of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreements, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Build-Transfer Agreements. Mr. Saunders also represented unaccompanied minor immigrants in Immigration Court on a pro bono basis. While in law school, Mr. Saunders worked as a Law Clerk for the United States Commission on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C., where he assisted the Commissioners on investigation and compliance matters.

Mr. Saunders received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Saint Leo University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. While at Saint Leo, he was the President of the Saint Leo chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honors society and served as a Fellow for Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida. Mr. Saunders is a member of the Florida and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
